Marie Wendt Marie Wendt has been an enthusiast of French dance for more than twenty years. From her home base in Maine, she has taught throughout New England sharing her passion for French dance with international dance groups, at folk festivals, with teachers and students.

Marie was first captivated by French bourrée and Breton dance when introduced to them at international dance events in the United States in the 1980s.

In 1993, Marie visited France to attend festivals and experience French dance first-hand. Since then, Marie has traveled to France many times, including the regions of Brittany and Alsace as well as central France. These journeys were all exhilarating dance missions — opportunities to experience, absorb and learn. Marie returned home each time with fresh additions to a delightful repertoire of dances — from melodic Alsatian branles to boisterous Breton dances to hypnotic bourrées.

Marie is an instructor / caller of traditional and historic dance, specializing in International folk dance and Renaissance dance.

Marie lives with her husband Steve and daughter Siona in Maine.
