On Sunday, May 28, 2017, Dr. Stefanie Holzman, director of the Tuesday Skandia South Dance Club, a Scandinavian performing group, had this to say about the differences among the hand positions of some Scandinavian dance forms.
- Fingers forward: Swedish
- Fingers backward: Norwegian
- Fingers in fists: Finnish
- Thumbs at temples, fingers spread: Moose
