Statewide Program 1984 It's 1984 and once again we are invited to our Capitol City of Sacramento for the 39th Annual Statewide Festival and a "Bavarian Holiday," May 25, 26, 27, and 28. Chairpersons Oscar Faoro and John Alfors and their Committee, promise us four days of entertainment, dancing, and just fun. We accept!

The Warm-up Party Friday night was in Robertson's Dance Studio and the After Party was there as well The Saturday afternoon Institute with Chairperson Denise Heenan was held at Memorial Auditorium as was the Saturday evening Festival, the Sunday afternoon Festival, and the evening Festivals as well. The After Parties were also scheduled for the Auditorium.

The Installation Brunch, with Chairperson Bee Whittier, moved to the Sacramento Inn, with Ernie Dresher the MC. It began with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, conducted by Elmer Riba, and then the invocation by Lawrence Jerue.

Presidents Dave Slater, South, and Burt Sholin, North, installed the new officers. Master of Ceremonies Ernie Dresher, during the introduction of Past Presidents, when it was my turn, presented me with a pin reading "He conquered all but Concord," that being the one Statewide I missed. I have pinned my pin to the caricature Frank Kane made of me at the Hayward Festival.

The Past President's Party would seem to bring out the possessors of that special pin and the two-hours get together is always a blast.

We have previously mentioned a number of the Committee members but here are a few more who deserve recognition: Chairpersons Oscar Faoro and John Alfors; Publicity, Donya Wicken; Registration, Leona Faoro; Callers, Bill D'Alvy; Concert, Bruce Mitchell; Masters of Ceremonies, Bruce Wyckoff; Sound, Frank Bacher; Concert Narration, Lois Mead; Decorations, George Plenert; and all the others who worked so hard to make the Festival a success.

I notice I overlooked mentioning the Concert, Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. They sure had one and Bruce Mitchell was the Chairperson. I almost missed it in my write-up but I'm sure you didn't miss seeing it!

The cover of the program was designed by Hilda Sachs.
