Nils W. Bergquist established the folk dance literature with dances learned from observation of natives and from the books of Elizabeth Burchenal, C. Ward Crampton, Caroline Crawford, and Mary Wood Hinman.
Dr. Charles Ward Crampton wrote the introduction to his book, Swedish Folk Dances.
