Tommy and Ewa Englund

Tommy and Ewa Englund have taught many popular dances, including those of their native Häsingland and Gästrikland. Tommy and Ewa have resided in Sandviken, Gästrikland for much of their lives. Both earned their Polska Testing big silver medals in Polskadans in the 1980s. They won the Hälsinge Hambo Contest four times and now act as judges for a variety of dance events. Tommy is a judge for the Hälsingehambo contest and Ewa is a judge for the Polskadans Medal Testing. They are known for their clarity of presentation and warmth to participants.
Tommy and Ewa have a broad repertoire of bygdedans: they both have their big silver medals for polskadancing. Ewa is a member of the jury for the Swedish medal testing. They have focused on the dances of Jämtland, Medelpad, and Härjedalen.
Interested in "gammaldans" such as schottis, hambo, vals, and polka, they do variations of these dances from different parts of Sweden. In 1982, 84, 85, and 86, the Englunds won the "Halsinge-hambo" contest.
