Ellen was a dance major at Juliard and taught and enjoyed Romanian and international folk dancing.
Ellen taught Romanian dance at several folk dance coffeehouses in the Los Angeles area.
In a poem called "A Time to Cry," son Gary wrote:
And then there was Ellen the dancer
Not a performer, but a dancer in the truest sense
She moved with a grace and beauty that was uniquely her own
And made lasting friendships in her folk dance group
For you folk dance friends, now it's a time to cry.Ellen passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2005 after a long fight with cancer.
