Ballroom, Salsa Rueda
Samy Makar started ballroom dancing in 1990 at Stanford as a grad student. In 2001 he discovered Salsa Rueda at Moffet Field and by 2004 had started teaching it. He introduced Salsa Rueda to the folkdance world at the Statewide Conference of The Folk Dance Federation in 2006. In the same year he started an independent class for Salsa Rueda in Los Gatos. He has taught many salsa and ballroom classes at Stanford, Mission College, and at the Cubberley Pavilion & Boogie Woogie Ballroom.
