David E. S. Young, of Ojai, California taught a variety of international dances.

In the late 1950s, David introduced folk dancing to Rishi Valley School.

He was the chairperson of the first California folk dance Statewide in Ojai in 1942.

He was a mathematics teacher at the Happy Valley School and brought an exceptionally high level of folk dancing to the students and school community. He directed the Happy Valley Dancers.

International folk dancing was introduced to Rishi Valley School in 1963 by David.

David taught at the California College of the Pacific Folk Dance Camp (now Stockton Folk Dance Camp) in 1960.

Dances David taught include Bihar, Dodi Li, Progressive Rheinländer, and Santhal.
